What does Based mean?
Based means someone dares to be themselves or has an honest opinion, even if it isn't popular.
"He just ordered a sparkling water while the whole table was drinking beer. Based."
Rapper Lil B gave the word this positive meaning around 2010. Based is pretty much the opposite of cringe. You say it as a compliment to someone who doesn't care what others think. Also read what NPC means.
