What does Side quest mean?
A side quest is a random detour or task that has nothing to do with your actual plan.
"I just went to get bread. Three hours later I was at a house party in Utrecht. Big side quest."
Side quest comes from games, where it is an optional mission next to the main story. In real life it is anything you end up doing while you planned something else. Often those are the best stories of the night. Also read about main character, lore and YOLO.
