Mijnenveld
Mijnenveld is a Dutch card game where you pick a path through the cards. Mijnenveld means minefield. Step on a face card or an ace and you are hit. Then you have to start over.
What is Mijnenveld?
How to play
- Pick a dealer.
- The dealer lays the cards face down in rows of 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2 and 1 card.
- The player starts at the first card.
- The dealer turns over the chosen card.
- Is it a normal number card? Then the player can move on.
- From the next row on, the player picks left or right.
- The player tries to make it to the other side of the field this way.
- Does the player land on a jack, queen, king, ace or joker? Then it's a mine.
- Hit a mine? The player drinks and starts again at the front.
- The dealer replaces all the cards the player walked over.
- Is the pile of replacement cards empty? Then the penalty goes up by 1 sip.
- The game stops as soon as someone makes it through the field in one piece.
When do you drink?
- You drink when you land on a mine.
- With more players, everyone can drink when someone steps on a mine.
Extra rules
- Play with fewer rows if you want a short round.
- Make clear beforehand whether jokers are in. With jokers the game gets a lot meaner.
