What does Cheers mean?
Cheers is what you say when you raise your glass. In British English it also means thanks.
"To the graduates. Cheers!"
With cheers you raise your glass and clink it with the others. In the Netherlands you say "proost". In the UK you also hear cheers when someone holds the door for you. Then it just means thank you. Also read about bottoms up and pub.
