Dutch student slang
What does Dispuut mean?
A dispuut is a close-knit group within a Dutch student association, often with members from several years.
For three years she has had dinner with her dispuut every Thursday, no matter who still has to study.
Dutch student slang. This is a Dutch word. You will hear it a lot at Dutch universities, student associations and in student houses.
A dispuut works like its own little club with its own activities, traditions and often its own colours. Usually you get invited to join instead of signing up yourself. It is a bit like a sorority or fraternity chapter, but smaller. Also read about corps and jaarclub.
