What does Elective mean?
An elective is a course you choose yourself, instead of a required part of your programme.
"For my elective I'm doing wine tasting for beginners. I'm expecting a ten."
Electives let you explore another interest or specialise further. They also just earn you credits. At Dutch universities a bigger block of electives is called a minor. Also read what major means.
