What does Kot mean?

In Leuven she invited her friends over to her kot for a movie night.

Flemish student slang. This is a Flemish word. You mostly hear it from Belgian students, but plenty of Dutch students know it too.

Kot is mostly used in Flanders. Students live "op kot" during the week and go home to their parents at the weekend. Dutch students would say studentenkamer, or just thuis. In English you would say student room or dorm. Also read what studentenhuis means.
